PURPOSE:To the speed (mu) of gas accurately, by utilizing the specific relation between a coefficient (a) expressing the thermal conductivity of the gap when the gap whose wind speed is to be measured by a King's expression is at still, and a coefficient (b) for expressing the thermal conductivity of the gap when the gap is at a reference wind speed. CONSTITUTION:In the gap 1 whose wind speed is to be measured, a resistor 2 for gas temperature measurement is arranged, and a constant current Ia having a relatively low enough current value not to cause radiation from the resistor is supplied from a constant current source 3 to obtain the voltage across the resistor as a voltage Va expressing the temperature Ta of the gas 1. Further, a resistor 4 is arranged in the gas 1 and a constant current ID having a relatively high enough current value to cause radiation is supplied from a constant current source 5 through a resistor 6 for compensation to obtain the voltage across the resistor 4 as a voltage VD expressing the temperature TD of the detection resistor 4. In the gas 1' held still (by using, for example, a wind shielding plate) previously, a compensating resistor 6 is arranged and the constant current ID is supplied from the constant current source 5 to obtain the voltage across the resistor 6 as a voltage VO expressing the temperature TO of the compensating resistor 6. An arithmetic circuit 10 performs arithmetic based upon the expression to measure the wind speed (mu) of the gas 1. |
