A method and device for reducing the power consumption of an electrical drive system which is used for driving variable loads. In order to reduce the power consumption of the drive system, the supply voltage is automatically adjusted such that the supply current of the drive system essentially reaches its minimum possible value corresponding to the instantaneous load. |
