摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain a magnet for multipolar magnetization having excellent magnetic properties, by a method wherein a hollow billet made of an Mn-Al- C alloy for magnet is axially subjected to free compression at a predetermined temperature. CONSTITUTION:A hollow billet 1 made of a manganese-aluminum-carbon (Mn- Al-C) alloy for magnet is axially subjected to free compression at a temperature of 530-830 deg.C. The free compression is better for improvement in magnetic properties when conducted in a plurality of stages with a plastic working suspension state interposed therebetween than when continuously conducted. The billet 1 having been subjected to the free compression is further partially subjected to an axial compression. As a result, the part of the billet 1 subjected to the compression is formed into a magnet showing high magnetic properties. Thus, it is made possible to obtain a magnet for multipolar magnetization having excellent magnetic properties. |
