PURPOSE:To secure the quality of a weld zone, by detecting whether an interelectrode voltage or resistance has a peak or not within a standard peak time and controlling a welding current. CONSTITUTION:A resistance welder is equipped with an electronic switch such as a thyristor for controlling the welding current, and the interelectrode voltage or resistance resulting from the ignition of the electronic switch is detected. The peak generation point of the detected value is detected and a standard peak time is set near said peak generation point in a standard welding state. Then, whether a peak is present at the set time end point or not is checked and when not, the ignition phase of the electronic switch is controlled. A greater current or voltage than before is impressed. Consequently, heat input increases to prevent a defective weld nugget, securing the quality of the weld zone. |
