PURPOSE:To make the discharging time longer and to prevent a fuel from being momentarily supplied excessively, by connecting a pressure accumulating chamber to an accelerator pump chamber or to a passage that connects said accelerator pump chamber with a discharge port. CONSTITUTION:The accelerator pump chamber 18 is in communication with the pressure accumulating chamber 30 via a passage 29. A diaphragm 31 of the pressure accumulating chamber 30 is energized toward the pressure accumulating 30 by a spring 33. If a fuel is pressurized in the accelerator pump chamber 18, part of the pressurized fuel escapes into the pressure accumulating chamber 30. As a result, the highly pressurized fuel would not be supplied momentarily into the discharge port 23, and the discharge pressure is lowered. If a diaphragm 16 of the accelerator pump 15 has reached the end of the pressurizing stroke, the fuel in the pressure accumulating chamber 30 is returned to the pump chamber 18 in accordance with the amount of the fuel flowed from the pump chamber 18 to a discharge passage 20 and is delivered to the discharge passage 20. |
