PURPOSE:To enable to obtain comfortable space-heating and cooling operation of an air conditioner irrespective of the atmospheric temperature, by operating a fan motor at a high speed automatically when the atmospheric temperature becomes higher than a prescribed temperature during space-cooling operation and operating the fan motor at a low speed automatically when the atmospheric temperature becomes higher than a prescribed temperature during space-heating operation. CONSTITUTION:In case that an air conditioner is operated with a main control switch 12 positioned at the notch of ''weak cooling'' and the atmosheric temperature is higher than a prescribed temperature preset at an atmospheric temperature detecting thermostat 18, the thermostat 18 switches the speed of a fan motor 11 automatically to high-speed side to keep the flow rate of air passed through an outdoor heat exchanger at the maximum level. On the other hand, in case that space-heating operation is performed by shifting a space cooling and heating operation selecting switch 13 to space- heating side as shown by the dotted line in the drawing, the fan motor 11 is operated at a low speed irrespective of whether the notch of the main control switch 12 is positioned at ''strong heating'' or ''weak heating''. |
