The links 24 of a chain conveyer carry poultry feed on their surface and where the links engage an idler wheel 30, are engaged by a guide member 58 which is resiliently urged downwardly by compression springs 60. The guide member is attached to bolts 56a which are slidable in recesses formed in a support member 52. This member is secured to a wall 44 of an enclosure which also includes a cover 46. The idler wheel 30 has rib-like projections 38 which are engaged by the links 24, thus causing the wheel to rotate. Straight portions of the conveyer comprise an open trough 12. The chain is similar to that described in Specification 1,007,317.
