PURPOSE:To prevent printing paper from slipping off a conveying roller when the printing paper shorter than a predetermined length is inserted by error to be made impossible in the conveyance thereof, by a method wherein a paper end part detecting means is provided to the conveying source side of a paper conveying means and an operation means for calculating the convering amount of the printing paper is provided. CONSTITUTION:For example, a paper end detecting means consisting of a light emitting element 19 a light receiving element 19 is provided to the send-out source side of a paper conveying means consisting of a conveying roller 6 and a pusher roller 7. When the paper end is detected by said detecting means, the conveying roller 6 is forwardly rotated to start pull-in operation and the detection signal thereof is inputted to an operation circuit 21 to start the operation of a paper conveying amount. In this case, when the other end of the paper is detected by the paper end detecting means 19, 19 before the conveying amount does not reach a predetermined paper length, the conveying roller 6 directly stops conveyance and is reversely rotated to return the paper to the send-out source side. By this method, the trouble resulting from the shortness of a paper length is prevented. |
