A die for co-extrusion of two concentric tubular plastic films (3,4) (between which crossed arrays (7,8) of reinforcing filaments (12,13) are spun) is provided with a system for applying radial compression to consolidate the lamination of the concentric layers. The radial pressure may be applied by opposing pneumatic jets within (29) and around (28) the rising tubular film (4), or an annular set of pairs of rollers, or a composite system, i.e. jets opposed by rollers. For mfr. of reinforced sacks, bags, covers, etc., to improve resistance to delamination. Refers to such laminates where the enveloping films are of polyethylene. |
