<p>PURPOSE:To prepare an agent for absorption and desorption of oxygen, capable of forming a stable oxygen complex easily at room temperature even in the presence of water, by embedding an opposite-type diporphyrin metal complex in hydrophobic polymer particles, and dispersing the particles in an aqueous medium. CONSTITUTION:The face to face-type diporphyrin metal complex of formula (M is Cu or Zn; R is H or substituent group; R1-R4 are H or substituent group) is embedded in a hydrophobic polymer such as polystyrene, O-methyldextran, poly(L-glutamic acid n-lauryl ester), etc., and the particles of the polymer are dispersed in an aqueous medium. For example, and face to face-type diporphyrin metal complex, an excess imidazole compound and a hydrophobic polymer are dissolved in a proper solvent in an inert atmosphere, and the central iron atom of the metal complex is reduced to Fe(II) with a reducing agent. The solvent layer is separated from the reaction mixture, dehydrated, and freeze-dried to obtain polymer particles embedded with the metal complex.</p> |
