ROTOR FOR ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE

PURPOSE:To prevent the accident of a coil conductor due to its plastic deformation by such an arrangement wherein an insulation body covering the end portion of the coil is composed by laminating plural insulation bodies which are formed into substantially semi-cylindrical shape in layers. CONSTITUTION:A coil is installed in a slot of a rotary shaft and the end portion 5 of the coil protruded from the body of this rotor shaft is covered by an insulation material 6. The insulation material 6 is supported by a supporting ring 7. The insulation material 6 is formed by laminating in layers plural sheets of glass roving cloth on which, e.g., polyester resin is coated, on a semi-cylindrical metal mold for forming of which diameter equals to such a value which is obtained by subtracting the thickness of insulation of the insulation material 6 from the inner diameter of the supporting ring 7. By this arrangement, even when the supporting ring 7 is caused to expand by centrifugal force, the tensile force of the elongated portion caused by the expansion of the supporting ring 7 is prevented from being conveyed to the coil conductor by causing the expanded ring to slide on the laminated surface of the laminated insulation material.
