PURPOSE:To produce a composite abrasion resistant member having a substantially high density and high strength and toughness by placing a sintered body of a sintered hard alloy having a prescribed shape on the end face in a die, packing iron powder thereon and pressurizing and molding the powder then subjecting the molding simultaneously to sintering and infiltering of a copper infiltration material. CONSTITUTION:A sintered hard alloy plate 1 which is beforehand stamped and sintered to a prescribed shape is placed on the end face of a press die, and iron powder 4 is packed in the other part of the die cavity. The powder is pressurized with punches 6, 6 after packing and is thus made into a molding contg. the plate 1. A molding 8 of a copper infiltration material is placed on the molding consisting of the plate 1 and the compressed iron powder body 7 and the moldings are sujbected simultaneously to sintering, infiltering and joining in a non-oxidative or reducing atmosphere. |
