PURPOSE:To prepare a titled cut glass fiber providing a glass fiber paper without minute bundled substance by a method wherein plural glass fiber bundles wetted by a bundling agent put side by side in a parallel manner and pressed and cut. CONSTITUTION:An inner surface of a pressing body 1 having a trumpet like cross section, of which an inlet portion 2 is widen and an outlet portion 3 is narrowed, is formed by a material with low friction coefficient such as a fluoride resion. Plural glass fiber bundles 4 wetted by a bundling agent such as PVA, starch, methylcellulose or the like are passed through a pressing body 1 and drawn out. A number of fiber bundle 4 passed through a pressing body 1 is determined in such a manner than a cross area of fiber bundles 4 when pressed in a sufficient passure by a force prallel to fibers become equal to a cross area of an outlet 3. Fiber bundles 4 is pressed to a wall 5 of a pressing body while passed through the said pressing body 1 and mutually adhered to form a large fiber bundle 6. This fiber bundle 6 is drawn out from a pressing body by a cutting apparatus comprising a cutter 9 and a rubber roll 10 and cut to a predetermined length. |
