Azo compound(1) and its salt for dye is prepared by means of reaction between primary or secondary amine and azo compound(6) from amind diazonium compound(2) through coupling with compound (3) or (4); where M = H or metal; R = H, C1-4 alkyl gp; X = alkyl or phenyl gp. substituted by sulfonic acid or carboxylic acid gp; Z = vinyl, β-thiosulfate ethyl, β-sulfatoethyl gp; Y = halogen such as Cl; and second sulfo gp. of naphthalene radical is on m- or p- location to the acylated amino gp. It is on p- location when Y = Cl.
