PURPOSE:To retrieve quickly a desired location of a disc based on chapter information and section information and display them on a receiving screen, by separating information into the chapter and the section information from the standpoint of address signal at the recording of a video disc in advance and recording them to read individually both the information at reproduction. CONSTITUTION:The address signal including the chapter and the section information recorded on a specific horizontal scanning line at a vertical blanking period of a video signal is rewritten and stored in a data latch circuit 19 at reproduction. In operating a chapter search button after inputting the chapter information X to be desired by an operating board 12 in a video disc player in reproducing state, the set chapter information X and the chapter information G latched to a data latch circuit 19 are compared at a controller 11, and the program operation is executed until the difference S reaches ''0'', that is, the latch information G of the data latch circuit 19 is coincident with the input set value X. |
