TREATMENT OF WASTE WATER CONTAINING WATER-GLYCOL NONCOMBUSTIBLE WORKING FLUID

PURPOSE:To remove approximately thoroughly the COD of a water-glycol working fluid, by subjecting titled waste water to an activated sludge treatment and an adsorptive treatment using bentonite or activated carbon. CONSTITUTION:Waste water contg. a water-glycol noncombustible working fluid is subjected to an activated sludge treatment and an adsorptive treatment using bentonite or activated carbon. Either of both treatments may be applied first but the execution of the activated sludge treatment first is more preferred in terms of a running cost. The biological treatment is possible is the activated sludge is thoroughly acclimatized. The part that cannot be decomposed by the activated sludge reacts specifically with bentonite or activated carbon and therefore if the bentonite and activated carbon are added to the waste water and the waste water is subjected to the adsorptive and flocculation treatment, the COD of the water-glycol working fluid is approximately thoroughly removed.
