The combination device for influencing peristalsis consists of a pressure cushion belt adapted to the surface of the abdomen, a compressed air unit and a temperature media unit. A number of pressure cushion elements (1) are secured by means of a Velcro surface on the skin side, these pressure cushion elements being inflated at times from the compressed air unit individually or in groups, simultaneously or one after the other, or are flooded with heated or cooled water from the temperature media unit. The pressure cushion elements (1) are connected to one another via connection pieces (1c) with two-way taps (1d) which are closed in the compressed air mode and are opened in a predetermined manner in the temperature media mode. The pressure cushion belt is applied around the patient's abdomen and is closed at the back using the Velcro closure (2a). Either a number of pressure tubes (4d) are now connected to the inlet nozzle (1a) of the pressure cushion elements (1), through which microprocessor-controlled pressure is exerted on the abdominal cavity. Or temperature media are supplied to the pressure cushion element (1) through admission tube (5c) and inlet nozzle (1a) and are passed back to the temperature media unit via outlet valve (1b) and return tube (6c).
