PURPOSE:To reduce man-hour and to improve the yield of material by forging an intermediate product having a projecting part of a small diameter at one end face in an axial direction and a recess at the other end face, and press fitting such intermediate product into a die provided with blades for forming teeth. CONSTITUTION:A solid intermediate product 28a having a projecting part 26 of a small diameter at one end face in its axial direction and having a recess 27 of the same shape as the shape of the part 26 at the other end face is obtd. by forging. The product 28a is inserted through the through-hole 37 of a container 36 into a hole 34. A fresh intermediate product 28b is inserted therein in the same direction. A fresh intermediate product 28c is similarly inserted on the product 28b by aligning the direction, whereafter a punch 40 is lowered. The product 28a press fitted first into the hole 34 is pressed, via the products 28b, 28c press-fitted afterward, by the punch 40, and the product is extruded and dropped in the state of a gear formed thoroughly with a tooth profile 43 from a die hole 34. A fresh intermediate product is thereafter inserted onto the intermediate product C remaining in the die 34 and the similar operation is repeated. |
