The present invention relates to an expansion joint for bridge-type constructions placed under the road surface. It is constituted by a T-shaped metal element 1 integral, by means of two studs, with a cellular profile 3 made of elastomer and symmetrical with respect to the axis of the T. The cellular structure blocks the joint and holds the T in the axis of the joint. The arms of the T rest on smooth surfacings based on heat-hardening resin constituting the lips of the joint; the assembly is covered by a strip of non-woven fabric made of synthetic fibres, fixed to the two elements of the deck and impregnated with bituminous binders. <IMAGE>
