PURPOSE:To obtain a small effective transport area in relative to an occupation floor space and to transport articles with high density by sequentially joining each stage of transport belts of two transport belt tiers to form a zigzag transport path. CONSTITUTION:In this transport conveyer system, the respective end portions of transport belts of the same stage in the first and second transport belt tiers where transport belts of many stages are vertically overlaid are laterally joined to each other, and the preceding stage of the first transport belt tier is joined to the end portion of the transport belt of the next stage of the second transport belt tier, to form a zigzag transport path of all transport paths of the first and second transport belt tiers. The respective lateral joining portions in the middle of the transport path are provided with transfer means for transferring articles from the upstream transport path to the downstream transport path. Therefore, in the thus constructed conveyer, the whole area occupied with the transport belts is an effective area, and about three quarters of the occupation floor space can be utilized. |
