PURPOSE:To enable quick diagnosis for trouble by providing plural timing generation means which perform sequence control in an image forming process and diagnosing successively the timing generation means when abnormality arises. CONSTITUTION:A magnet MG is stuck to the prescribed position of an original plate 16, and reed switches RS1-RS4 provided in the positions opposite thereto generate the home position signal CBHP of the plate 16, a resist signal RGP, a paper refeed signal PFP and the start position signal CBSP of the original plate. When abnormality is detected, the depression of an operation key 52A for a forward clutch FWC by a serviceman is decided. In the case of a NOT decision, the image formation proceeds to the next step and the depression of an operation key 52B for a reverse clutch RVC is decided. Thereafter the presence or absence of the generation of the signal CBSP, the signal PFP, the signal RGP and the signal CBHP is successively decided similarly and the defectiveness of the switches RS4-RS1 is displayed. |
