Concrete e.g. floor tile - has softer layer of machinable material on underside

The concrete tile has on the underside a layer of machinable material (6), which is softer than that of the main part (5). This layer can be of non-elastic material, typically wood, while the tile can have a central recess (4), enclosed by integral supporting strips. The material on the underside which can be of constant thickness, alternatively runs all the way round the tile. The design allows easy levelling of flowing tiles in particular.
