PURPOSE:To read image information only in a desired region surrounded by optional boundaries by prescribing the reading width in the direction of main scanning on input paper with two cursors in the direction of sub-scanning provided onto a paper platen. CONSTITUTION:After the input paper 2 where the reading region in the direction of sub-scanning Y is prescribed by a reading mark 23 is placed on the paper platen 1, the reading is started by moving the cursors 19, 20 in matching with reading boundaries C, D in the main scanning direction X, and when an image input sensor 7 detects a mark 23, the reading of the sensor 7 is started. The sensor 7 reads marks 21, 22 on the cursors 19, 20 and when the reading pulse is the same as the pulse registered in advance, the reading information succeeding to it is neglected, and only the information of the region sectioned by the inside of the cursors 19, 20 is read. The reading of a region T is performed while the paper 2 is carried in the Y direction, and when there exists no detecting signal of the mark 23, the reading operation is stopped. |
