PURPOSE:To obtain a tape cassette which has a large recording capacity and can be used in a small space with a small number of folds of tape by providing a projection and a guide groove to the cassette main body or a front lid and attaching the front lid to the cassette main body in an up-down movable way after having engagement between the projection and the guide groove. CONSTITUTION:Projections 3c, 3d and 3e are provided to a front lid 3, and at the same time a front lid guide groove 27 is provided to a base half 1a to guide those projections 3c-3e. Thus the lid 3 can be turned large with a sufficient space secured to a magnetic tape 4, and at the same time the projection degree can be reduced for the lid 3 from a tape cassette 1. Therefore the lid 3 produces no fold nor line to a magnetic tape and also can be used in a small space. In addition, the lid 3 can turn in upper and lower directions to the front face of the cassette 1. As a result, both sides of the cassette 1 can be used to attain a tape cassette having a large recording capacity. |
