PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in a reproduced picture quality in duplicated write by using another head gap having a different azimuth angle to head gap for recording and in which the track width is set to a small value as an erasing head. CONSTITUTION:A signal recorded already is erased by duplicated recording to a track part of a part of width of a video track recorded already by rotaty heads HB, HAis proceeding ahead rotary heads H1, H2 for inserting or consecutive recording and a signal is recorded on an insert recording track by the rotary heads H1, H2 including the duplicated track. Since a frequency modulating luminance signal recorded by the rotary heads HB, HA has a high frequency and is a signal recorded by the rotary heads having a different azimuth angle from that of the reproducing head, then the signal is not almost reproduced by the azimuth loss effect, sufficient erasing effect is obtained and the reproduced picture quality is improved. |
