PURPOSE:To enable the transmission of a number of rotations in such a manner that the output number of rotations is equal to the input number of rotations, by rotating a pair of mutually engaged gears to compensate for the gap between them. CONSTITUTION:When a pulse motor 1 already turned forward by a prescribed number of rotations in the direction of a full-line arrow and stopped is to be subsequently turned backward by a prescribed number of rotations in the direction of a dotted-line arrow, n pulses corresponding to the gap C between the tooth surfaces B of a first and a second gears 2, 3 behind their engaged tooth surfaces A are added to N pulses for the latter prescribed number of rotations to cause the pulse motor to perform an extra rotative motion by the n pulses. As a result, the tooth 21 of the first gear 2 stopped by the engaged tooth surfaces A of the teeth 21, 31 of the first and the second gears 2, 3 performs a lost rotative motion in the direction of the dotted-line arrow by the gap C or by the n pulses and is then engaged with the adjacent tooth 31 of the second gear and the first gear is rotated by the N pulses to revolve an arm 5 by a prescribed quantity through the second gear. The number of rotations is thus exactly transmitted. |
