PURPOSE:To simplify the structure and to increase the strength so as to improve the reliability, by combining concentrically two cylindrical pipes having different diameters, interposing helical heat transfer pipes between the cylindrical pipes, and allowing the heat of the fluid flowing through the heat transfer pipes to exchange for the heat of the fluid flowing between the cylindrical pipes. CONSTITUTION:The inner cylindrical pipe 2 has a diameter smaller than that of the outer cylindrical pipe 1, and extends through side plates 3a, 3b to be inserted concentrically in the outer cylindrical pipe 1. A plurality of the heat transfer pipes 8a constitute heat transfer pipe groups 8 that are wound helically around the inner cylindrical pipe 2 with the distance (D) between the adjacent heat transfer pipe groups being greater than the distance (d) between adjacent heat transfer pipes. An inflow port 4 for a fluid that flows between the inner and outer cylindrical pipes 2, 1 and an outflow port 7, which is in communication with the heat transfer pipes 8a via a duct 10a, for a fluid that flows in the heat transfer pipes 8a, and an outflow port 5 for the fluid that flows between the inner and outer cylindrical pipes 2, 1 and an inflow port 6, which is in communication with the heat transfer pipes 8a via a duct 10b, for the fluid that flows in the heat transfer pipes 8a are provided to the opposite end sections of the outer cylindrical pipe 1 respectively. Thus the structure is simplified, the heat exchanger can be made small-sized, the productivity and heat transfer performance are improved and the strength is improved. |
