PURPOSE:To make the compact construction of ink jet printer possible, by containing diaphragm type air pump or the like in the buffer tank of the air supply system feeding air current to an ink jet head. CONSTITUTION:A diaphragm type air pump 15 is contained in a buffer tank 21 and its intake vent 16 is connected to the air current inlet 18 of wall component 14 and introduces air. Its exhaust vent 17 is opened to the space part 20 enclosed by the wall component 14. The air current by the pump 15, the pulsation of which is absorbed by the space part 20 having sufficient volume, is fed to an ink jet recording head and an ink well from an air current outlet 19. Thus, the construction is compacted, at the same time the vibration and noise of diaphragm type air pump are effectively absorbed and the quiet air supply system can be realized. |
