PURPOSE:To obtain a maximum dynamic range all the time by setting the set values of respective circuits automatically while the amount of attenuation of an input attenuator is associated with a reference level and the width of a resolution band width. CONSTITUTION:An input attenuator setting means 11 calculates the amount of attenuation of the input attenuator 1 on the basis of the resolution band width and reference level value stored in a storage means 14 so that an input signal to be measured which is attenuated by the input attenuator 1 is inputted to a mixer 3 with an optimum input level, and the calculated value is set to the input attenuator 7. A setting means 12 for the degree of intermediate frequency amplification calculates the degree of amplification of an intermediate frequency amplifier 7 from the set amount of attenuation of the input attenuator 1 and the reference level stord in the storage means 14, and the value is set in the amplifier 7. A setting means 13 for the width of the resolution band selects a filter corresponding to the stored resolution band width. Thus, the maximum dynamic range is obtained all the time.
