The present invention relates to a method for measuring external and internal volumes by computerised processing of images, and to a device for implementing this method. The measurement method essentially comprises the capture, analog-to-digital conversion and storage, in the form of a matrix of "elementary points", of 180/ alpha shots of a volume V, alpha being the angle of relative rotation between the volume V and an image-capture system C, and the computerised computation of 180/ alpha volume portions V which can be deduced by the computerised processing of the 180/ alpha shots, the computer system SI giving the summation of the partial results of these calculations. A measurement device comprises a rotating plate P for supporting the said volume V, a frame D, a radiation source SR, a stationary image-capture system C, and a computer system SI with display and printing of the results.
