PURPOSE:To permit the quick and uniform supply of ink to the tip of needles by a method in which a magnet is formed at the tips of the needles of a wire dot printer, and a magnetic ink film is formed in the retracting position of the needles. CONSTITUTION:A magnet 17 is formed on the tips of needles (wires) 15 of a wire dot printer head 12, and an ink film former 10 to form a magnetic ink film on the retracting position of the needles 15 is provided on the front of the head 12, which consists of an electromagnet 18, side walls 21, and paired magnetic poles 20. The magnetic poles 20 are set to insert the tip 16 in the retracting position of the needles 15, and the ends of the poles 20 are projected into a magnetic ink tank 23 to form magnetic ink film 24 in the slits of the poles 20. Thereby, ink is supplied to the magnet 17 on the tip 16 of the needles 15 in the retracting position. |
