PICTURE SIGNAL PROCESSING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To realize the transmission of picture with high vertical resolution by constituting a picture element consisting of plural scanning lines as one scanning line and transmitting it so as to halve substantially the number of scanning lines. CONSTITUTION:An input TV signal in a horizontal frequency 2fH is sampled by a sampling circuit 1, the sampled value of 2fS per one scanning line is obtained, the band is limited by a two-dimensional filter F2. Only the fS signal is extracted by a re-sampling circuit 3 next, added to the signal via one horizontal period delay line 4 and a 2fS signal is obtained. Then, the signal fS having only an even number of scanning lines is extracted by a switch 5 and the time is expanded twice by a time expanding circuit 6. This signal consisting only of the sampling value series is extracted as an analog signal via an interpolating filter 7 and transmitted.
