PURPOSE:To facilitate ensuring of a necessary injection amount matching a transient condition such as supercharging of turbo, by a method wherein a fuel pressure, fed to an injector, is varied through control of a fuel pressure regulating means 1 in accordance with the detected output of an engine operating condition detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A fuel pressure regulating means 5 is located in a fuel feed system including an injector 4 into which the fuel boosted by a fuel pump 1 is fed. Through energizing and control of a pressure regulator switching solenoid 53, the regulating means 5 controls a shut-off valve 531 in a branch passage 62 for pressure-regulated fuel admitting a pressure regulator 52 for low pressure. A solenoid 53 is energized and controlled by a fuel pressure control means 9 in accordance with the outputs of a suction pressure detecting sensor 12 and other operating condition detecting means. This regulates a fuel pressure, required by assurance of the injection amount of the injector 4, in response to an engine condition. |
