PURPOSE:To enable even a user having a poor vocabulary to produce a sentence or a document using accurate words and phrases by attaining the transfer of the relative words to a specific word to a document recorder. CONSTITUTION:For normal production of a sentence or a document, the character string data supplied from an input device 24 is transferred to an internal memory 22 via a central processing controller 21 and at the same time displayed to a display device 28. Then the data on words, etc. is transferred to the memory 22 from a dictionary device 25 with the signal given from a conversion indicating part of the device 24. At the same time, the character string data on a display 28 is converted into the word data and displayed. The character string data is successively supplied from the device 24 while it is confirmed on the display 28. Thus a sentence is edited. Then a synonym selection indicating part of a relative word selection indicating part 241 is operated when the most accurate synonym corresponding to a specific character string or another vocabulary is needed.
