PURPOSE:To attain automatically label forming by extracting an information part by a recorder, decoding and displaying the information so as to attain forming of label and outputting the information to a printer. CONSTITUTION:When a VOL1 label 3 or an HDR1 label 4 is detected in data from a CPU, a magnetic tape sub-system extracts the information required for forming of label among the data and displays the information to a display device 23. Since the content of display is not erased basically until a magnetic tape mounted at present is wound and another magnetic tape is loaded, the operator references this display and forms a label stuck to a reel. When a magnetic tape controller 10 is provided with a print mechanism 18 and the label information is outputted to the print mechanism 18 from a local memory 17 when the magnetic tape device 11 executes the winding instruction, the formed label has only to be stuck onto a tape reel. |
