PURPOSE:In a grinder for a belt sander for grinding the surface of wood, to enable grinding of short material by reducing the front/rear width of a pressure roll arranged in front and rear of grinder. CONSTITUTION:Upon driving of a guide roll 13, a sanding belt 30 will travel through feeding function caused by contact with the arched face 13a to contact with the step face of a step system 18. Consequently when a workpiece (X) will travel over the grinding section while being pressed against the feeder 9 through press rolls 31, 32, the inner pressure of air bag 22 will increase to pressure contact the belt 30 against the upper face of the workpiece (X). Since the belt 30 can travel along the feeding direction by means of the arched face 13a, a guide roll is not required to be provided below the grinder to enable reduction of the width at the lower portion. Consequently the interval of the press rolls 31, 32 can be reduced to shorten the scale of the workpiece (X). |
