PURPOSE:To make the assembling operation easy, by forming U-shaped guide grooves in a differential bearing body and a bearing member journaled thereon, and guiding a shifter pin thereby enabling it to be engaged in a pin hole in the differential bearing body. CONSTITUTION:Before the insertion into a rear axle housing 1, left and right bearing members 7, 8 and a front wheel differential mechanism 9 are mounted to a differential bearing body 6, a differential lock boss 22 is inserted, and the bifurcated section of a differential lock shifter 26 is engaged with a ring groove 25 of the boss 22. Then, a spring 33 is fitted to the base of a shift pin 27, the shifter pin 27 and the spring 33 are guided by U-shaped guide grooves 36, 37 to be inserted from an opening 38 into a cavity 39 of a shifter bearing section 5, and the shifter pin 27 is fitted in a pin hole 28. Then, attaching legs 7, 8 of the differential bearing body 6 and a front wheel differential mechanism 9 are inserted from an opening 39 of the housing 1 and a lid section 4 is attached to the housing 4.
