PURPOSE:To contrive to reduce size and make clear an image, by a method wherein a heat transfer film is heated by a transfer theremal head comprising thermal printing parts corresponding to the positions of color ink layers, and the color ink layers are transferred onto a recording paper. CONSTITUTION:The ribbon form heat transfer film provided with the color ink layers of different colors in plural parallel rows through ink non-formed layers is heated by the transfer thermal head comprising the thermal printing parts corresponding the positions of the color ink layers, whereby the ink layers are transferred to the same part of the rocording paper. Namely, one or more of the color ink layers 4a-4b of the heat transfer film transferred to a predetermined line on the recording paper 7, so that a total of 15 colors at maximum can be expressed on the paper 7 by using the single colors of the ink layers 4a-4b and mixed colors of two or more of the single colors. In addition, the thermal printing parts 8a-8d may be provided as separate bodies, and a plurality of transfer thermal heads may be used. By adopting this system, the transfer device is prevented from being complicated, and clear multicolor prints can be obtained by a small-type device in a short time. |
