Cable for transporting electrical energy, characterised in that it comprises a core 6 formed of parallel wires arranged so that the envelope of the core 6 has a variable radius of curvature in cross section, so as to be for example substantially oval, and at least a first twisted layer 8 enveloping the core 6, so that the outer contour of the finished cable, viewed in cross section, is not circular. The fact that the obtained cross section of the cable 10 is not circular prevents the accumulation of ice on the cable in winter by causing the ice layer to break above a certain threshold, this preventing the risks of breakage of the cable. <IMAGE>
