<p>PURPOSE:To reduce an operating torque, by providing a set of planetary gears at both ends of a planetary shaft, and providing a single planetary gear on a pad side of another planetary shaft. CONSTITUTION:A set of planetary gears 25 and 26 meshing with a sun gear 17 on a column side and another sun gear 19 on a pad side are provided on both ends of a planetary shaft 23. A sun gear 29 meshing with the sun gear 19 on the pad side is provided at one end of another planetary shaft 27. With this arrangement, a gear meshing area may be decreased to reduce friction. As a result, an operating torque may be reduced, and a steering wheel may be smoothly returned.</p> |
