PURPOSE:To switch the operation of a camera to flash photographing state quickly by providing the camera with an opening means for opening a lens protecting cover in accordance with the work of an operation means and a switching means for switching a flash circuit to the working state in accordance with the work of a switching means for the opening means. CONSTITUTION:When the camera 2 is in the disused state, a sliding member 12 is locked on the lower position by a lock lever 18 located on a lock position against the force of a spring 16. Consequently, a flash emitting part 4 is stored in the external frame of a camera body 2 and a main switch SM is opened to disconnect power supply to an electric circuit including a flash circuit of the camera.
