发明名称 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a desired panel gap and to obviate positional deviation of upper and lower electrodes by matching the stretching directions of uniaxially stretched polyester films and superposing said films so that the mutual deformation is accomplished always identically. CONSTITUTION:Transparent conductive films 5 consisting of indium oxide, tin oxide, etc. are provided on the inside surfaces of an upper base plate 1 and a lower base plate 2 consisting of uniaxially stretched flexible polyester films and are disposed by matching the respective stretching directions so as to parallel the same. Said films are then patterned by using photolithography in order to obtain desired electrode patterns. The stretching directions of the above-mentioned plates 1, 2 are set in such a way that the extinction angles of the respective plates attains + or -2.5 deg.. An upper polarizing plate 3 is laminated atop the fixed plates 1, 2 in such a way that the polarizing direction thereof intersects orthogonally to the stretching direction of these base plates and a lower polarizing plate 4 is laminated on the bottom surface thereof in such a way that the polarizing direction parallels with the stretching direction. The element which has a uniform cell gap is free from positional deviation in the electrode patterns and has good display quality is obtd.
