PURPOSE:To reduce a hindrance inflicted on the welding work by detecting and reporting the extraction termination time of welding wires with detectors provided at the lower section of a pile-back barrel. CONSTITUTION:Detecting heads 17, 18 constituting detectors with non-contact proximity switches are provided at the predetermined position near the lower section of a pile-back barrel 2 made of paper. When oil-like welding wires 5 in the pile-back are dissipated and the upper end passes the response range of the detecting head 17, a yellow lamp is lighted to alert workers. Next, when the upper end reaches the response range of the detecting head 18, a red lamp is lighted and also buzzer is activated, and in addition, a signal is sent to an external equipment such as a welding machine or robot control unit, etc., the welding action is stopped after the welding of a predetermined length is completed or immediately. Accordingly, hindrance inflicted on the welding work can be largely reduced. |
