PURPOSE:To lower the yield point of a cold rolled ferritic stainless steel strip, to reduce the yield elongation, and to improve the rust resistance by heating the strip to a prescribed temp. and cooling it under prescribed conditions. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolled ferritic stainless steel strip is cold rolled. This cold rolled strip is heated to 800-950 deg.C, and it is rapidly cooled to 650-750 deg.C, held at the temp. for 20sec-5min, and air-cooled to ordinary temp. A strip with a low yield point, <=0.5% yield elongation and superior rust resistance is obtd. |
