A built-in cooking area for a domestic cooker with a ceramic hob, on which various heating zones can be switched on by electrical heating devices under the hob, is to be changeable according to the respective plate pattern desired by the user. This is effected by assembling, for universal selection of a desired magnitude and distribution of the heating zones, respectively two circular heating devices (4,5;6,7) arranged without overlap and with separately switchable central (8) and surrounding annular heating surfaces (9,10) into a heating body unit (Fig.). <IMAGE>
