The subject matter of the invention is a manipulating device which can be combined in various ways according to the modular construction principle and has several degrees of freedom and the vertical, horizontal and gripper units of which are moved by pneumatic drives, in which arrangement the units can be interlinked by simple connecting modules which carry the pneumatic drives, which consist of pneumatic cylinders and/or pneumatic rotary motors obtainable on the market, while the manipulating device is mounted at the place of use via a connecting module guiding the vertical unit in a reciprocating manner between head and foot end.
