Drive circuit for a power transistor

The invention relates to a drive circuit for power transistors for switching an inductive load in the collector of this transistor. The circuit contains a limiting circuit for the collector voltage of the power transistor and circuit means for reducing the storage time. According to the invention, a current bypassing circuit is provided which is switched through with the turn-off signal for the power transistor in such a manner that the base current is bypassed along a low-impedance path. Furthermore, means are provided by means of which the current bypassing circuit is blocked for the current flow when a particular collector potential of the power transistor is reached, and thus the voltage limiting circuit becomes effective.
