In a settling vessel (1) filled with separation liquid, with waste- and coal-transport members (5-8), which are connected to the rotationally movable jig bed, and also with material feed and discharge devices, the invention has the object of increasing the throughflow of a movable-sieve jig of the same width, and to relatively reduce the equipment cost. The solution provides that the material feed takes place from two sides (14,15), with the material streams (27,28) moving towards each other during the pre-separation. Preferably the twin movable-sieve jig has two opposed settling material carriers (3,4), which both form a rocker (2). <IMAGE>
