PARTIAL OPERATION CONTROL TYPE INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To enable normally smooth operation of a valve, by a method wherein an oil seal is installed to the inside of the valve bearing of a suction shut-off valve mounted in a suction passage communicated with a surge tank to which exhaust gas is returned during partial cylinder operation of a number of cyllinders control type engine. CONSTITUTION:A suction shut-off valve 29 is installed in a first suction passage 23a coupled to a first surge tank 11 communicated with the exhaust gas return passage of a number of cylinders control type engine, and a valve shaft 30 of the valve 29 is retained by means of a ball bearing 42. An oil seal 43 is inserted into the inside of the bearing 42. This prevents entrance of carbon into the bearing 42, resulting in smooth operation of the valve 29.
