PURPOSE:To prevent inadequate access to the data set on storage volume of a storage device mount by providing definition information to protect a specified area in the storage volume from the inadequate access so as to reference the area. CONSTITUTION:A data protection control device 2 is provided with a function inputting definition information of a protection area when a magnetic disc volume being a storage volume is mounted and a function to check the propriety of an input/output instruction from a host computer. The data protection control device 2 consists of a mount detecting section 21, definition information input control section 22, internal memory 23 for storing protection area definition information, protection switch 24 and a protection area access discriminating control section 25. The definition information input control section 22 and the protection area access discriminating control section 25 form a kind of architecture of the program controller. |
